Taryn Manning

The multi-talented Taryn Manning has contributed to the world as an actress, singer and songwriter, and fashion designer. She was born in Virginia in the year 1978 to parents who divorced when she was just two months old. Even though her mother had limited income, she ensured that Taryn Manning attended dance, karate and acting classes. These motherly efforts have born fruit as Taryn has earned State Championship in Karate in Arizona and she is now one of Hollywood’s finest actresses.

Taryn Manning’s acting career started in the late 1990s where she appeared in small roles in both television and film to include “Get Real,” “Speedway Junky,” “The Practice,” “NYPD Blue” and “Popular.” These television performances led to roles in motion pictures. Her film debut was with Kirsten Dunst in the romantic flick entitled “Crazy Beautiful.” In the year 2002, Taryn Manning had a prominent role as one of Britney Spears’ best friends in “Crossroads.” Taryn’s breakthrough role was in the 2005 film “Hustle & Flow” which received critical acclaim and was a film success. She was nominated for Best Breakthrough Performance by the Washington DC Area Film Critics Association Awards.

Currently, she has been chosen to join the cast of CBS remake “Hawaii Five-O alongside Grace Park and Steve McGarrett. Her dream role is to be part of a musical such as “Moulin Rouge” so that her love for acting, dancing and singing could be combined in one project.
